Our Mission
Play for Pink brings people together over mahjong — a game built on friendship, strategy, and a little friendly competition — to raise funds and awareness for the Norma Pfriem Breast Center.
My Story
Breast cancer awareness has always been deeply personal to me. My incredible mom was diagnosed at just 38, and though we were blessed with 15 more years together, we lost her far too young at 53. Her strength and spirit continue to guide me, and for the past 29 years I've been committed to raising awareness and funds for breast cancer.
That commitment led me to launch Dink for Pink in 2024 — a pickleball fundraiser that grew from 75 players and $3,554 in its first year to 130 players and $18,000 raised in year two. Watching that community grow made me want to rally even more people around the cause, and Play for Pink was born — starting with the mahjong table.
I brought the idea to two incredible instructors, Stacey Wymbs of Roadmap to Mahjong and Kim Meier of CrAsian Mahj, who came on board as instructor partners — bringing their expertise, their luxury mahjong sets, and their own networks of players to help make this event possible.
Alongside a committee of close friends , Fran Hernandez, Lisa Brown & Marcie Bow, who jumped in to help plan, organize, and spread the word, we're proud to bring you the 1st Annual Mahjong Fundraiser on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
We can't wait to fill the room with 100 players, bringing the pink fun and playing for a cure.
